With a see-through "waterfall" (created by lights and clear spinning helices) as the centerpiece, the Rainforest Bouncer instantly charms and delights your curious baby. Two bright and cheery animals up top--a monkey and a toucan--keep baby visually stimulated, while two hanging toys provide all sorts of activity, with spinners and flutters that offer a variety of tones and textures. Baby will also love watching the tree frog and monkey play peek-a-boo in the leaves near a sparkling waterfall, while the toucan moves back and forth overhead. For added convenience, the toy bar is also a snap to remove for easy access to baby. The Rainforest Bouncer gives you the option of enjoying playtime with baby, or letting him or her play independently. Our second child is almost 7 months old. In the course of his short life, we've owned 4 bouncers (baby papasan, ocean wonders, a blue carters brand bouncer and this rainforest bouncer). Every bouncer has had its problems. The papasan was so boring that even at 2 weeks old, he was bored in the seat. The ocean wonders sits at such a steep vertical angle that he would slip over and nearly fall out of the seat at 2 months old. The carters brand bouncer was also very boring.
THIS bouncer, however, is quite nearly perfect. It leans back just enough to accommodate a floppy-headed newborn. My son finds the "waterfall" effect fascinating. The music isn't terribly annoying, and can be turned down with the push of a button. I love that the toy bar is easily removed with one hand (the vibration function works when the toy bar is off, if you want baby to sleep). With the toy bar taken off, you can also bounce it to soothe baby.
Our bouncer (purchased dec 06) did start to make the clicking sound about a month after purchase. We called fisher price, they sent us a replacement immediately. Their customer service is great. Five months later, the bouncer is still working perfectly and has been our baby's favorite seat ever since. At almost 7 months old, our baby is 17.5 lbs, and sadly, the seat will have to be put away. We've gotten 6 solid months of use out of this bouncer, and he is still not bored with it! |

Looks good, works well...was a little "clicky" at first (like a lot of people have mentioned) but a dollup of WD 40 made the squeak disappear forever.
HOWEVER, at 14 pounds and 24 inches long my 11 WEEK OLD's head is nearly touching the ground. I jsut bought the Fisher Price Sensory Selections Boucher and it is REMARKABLE. It is the reverse of traditional bouncers so as the baby get heavier it isn't the head but the lower body that gets lower to the ground. Had I know this sooner, I would have passed on this item. Otherwise a great product for SMALLER BABIES.

My little one loves this bouncer so much! He is actually in in right now ;o)
It is so much fun for him! I notice that when he was a wee baby he loved to stare at the lit/moving waterfall. As he grew he aimed to reach the hanging monkey and parrot and now at 7 months he grabs them. Oh and the moving animals near the waterfall are too cute!
The music is fun but be warned, it will be embedded in your head!! I find myself humming the happy little tunes while cleaning the house or waiting n line at the grocery store.
A negative is that is eats batteries! But then again, most toys like this do.
To round this up, I am VERY happy with this bouncer and will, without a doubt, use it again for child #2 :o)

| My son absolutely loves his Rainforest Bouncer, unfortunately, when I put him in it this morning and turned on the toy bar it started making a terrible clicking noise. I called Fisher-Price customer service and couldn't have been more pleased. The lady I spoke with was very nice and in less than 10 minutes had a new toy bar on its way to me free of charge. |

| I received this as a shower gift and ever since my baby was about 6 weeks she loves it (before that she would only scream if I put her in it). We keep it in the bathroom and it ensures that I get a shower every morning (a luxury for every new mom)! Now that she is 11 weeks she "talks" to it, kicks her feet frantically, loves to make the bird spin and pulls the rings off the hanging monkey. My frog also clicked, but thanks to some other posts here it was easily fixed with a little WD-40. |

| My daughter used this bouncer most of her life, from about 1 month to about 8 months. We still use it occasionally at 10 months: sometimes she wants to be in the bathroom with me when I take a shower, so I put her in the bouncer. She is content there for the length of a shower, and occasionally I use it in the kitchen, to keep her out of trouble. Normally she is happy to play in the living room, but for those times when she wants to be near me, sometimes she prefers the bouncer to the floor or the high chair. From 1-6 months, she ADORED this bouncer. She loved that she could be near me, no matter what room I was in and no matter what I was doing. She also loved the waterfall, the vibration setting, the sounds, and the toys. On vibrate mode, as a newborn to 3 month old, she'd often take naps in her bouncer. Occasionally the jumping frog would get stuck, but he'd unstick himself or I'd nudge him and he'd be okay. We only had to replace batteries two or three times in almost a year. Considering all the use this bouncer got, it held up really well and seemed very well made. We only had to wash the cloth cover once, and it came out of the dryer looking like new- not all nubbly and faded. This was one of the best items we got for our baby, and if it were bigger or converted to a toddler item, she'd probably still be using it! Go for it! |

| And I owe it all to this bouncer. I'd feed him, let him get sleepy, then strap him into the bouncer next to the shower. Between the vibrating chair and the white noise of the bathroom fan, he's sleep the entire shower, every time. Fisher-Price must have made some modifications to the product recently, because our bouncer looks a little different than the picture and many of the complaints of previous reviewers I haven't experienced. We've had no problems with the monkey making clicking noises (and we've used it heavily for 3 months now) and the toy bar doesn't seem too low - we have a pretty big little guy and they're not in his lap or anything. When he was a lot smaller he would sometimes hit the toys with his legs while kicking, but now that he's bigger his legs extend far past the toys and this isn't a problem anymore. Our monkey didn't come with rings, so they either redesigned that or we just got an incomplete unit - either way, I don't think they would have added much. The toy bar is easily removed should he become bored with it or it just gets in the way or something. At 13 weeks, he's just figured out how to control his hands and has taken and interest in toys. It's fun to watch him learn that he can bat the toucan or monkey and make the music and lights come on himself. The plastic unit that creates the vibration has been covered on the top and sides with the fabric from the seat cover, so no chafing on little legs. We use rechargeable batteries in this and they seem to last a long time even though we use it for an hour or so every day. The other thing I like is that this bouncer is quite "bouncy." Some of the other ones on the market are stiff or don't bounce at all. If you're looking for a stationary seat that won't move much, this one isn't for you. And to address another reviewer's concern - it may look a little upright before you put your baby in it, but because it has so much give, their weight will cause it to recline. In fact, our baby lays pretty flat with just a small upward angle (maybe 20 degrees or so) now that he weighs 15 lbs. Overall, a good bouncer and it's served us well, though every kid is different and you'll need to decide what features you're looking for. |
