Great tub
I've used this tub for three months now and love it. We started with the Summer Infant Newborn-To-Toddler Fold Away Baby Bath to try to save space; which it really didn't save all that much space. Plus, it was not very sturdy to hold my son up because he kept slipping down on the tubular bottom. I found that I needed to use two hands to keep him safe in the tub, therefore had troubles washing him because I could not hold him sturdy with one hand and wash him with the other. With the First Years Sure Comfort Newborn to Toddler Tub, my son is able to be supported and have a great time splashing away. It has a little compartment to hold your shampoo and soap, so you don't have to reach or turn your head away from the baby. I place this tub in our standard tub while washing him and just turn it over to dry it out when we are finished with it. I would highly recommend using this tub for its sturdiness and ease of use.

We've used this tub with our son as long as he's been able to have "real baths" (not sponge baths.) We only used the hammock-type sling that came with the tub one time, because he got too cold too quickly. Our son is now 4 months old and still loves this tub. He loves splashing around in it. It is also nice that he can still fit on the "newborn" side and we don't really have to worry about him falling down into the water because of the seat. We use the extra little basin for clean water for rinsing.

Fine from one month until 4-5 months (but not the best), and not very practical after that
The tub was fine with the sling for my son when he was a newborn, but it was hard to keep his whole body wet (and thus warm) while keeping his head out of the water. We were also scared to death when he'd squirm, but I think all new parents must go through that.

We were happy when we removed the sling, so he could sit back and stay in the water. However, his behind would slip off the bump and he would slide lower. I've used a friend's tub (another brand) and its bump is rubber-coated, leading to much less sliding down. In this tub, it's just hard plastic.

By 4-5 months, the water was no longer covering the front of his torso. The baby's back is reclined, so vertical distance isn't huge, and its head is against the seatback while its chest puffs out. As a result, adding more water leads to water going into his ears before it covers the front side of his chest. Actually, it's the front side of his chest, the top of his harms and shoulders that are out of the water. We also noticed he'd squirm and try to sink lower into the tub (possibly to keep his body in the warm water). So we're stuck holding him up with one arm (or readjusting him every few minutes). The chest out of water phenomenon is worse on the straight-back toddler side of the tub, where he sits straight up, because the water only goes up to his belly when the tub is completely full. As a result, his chest stays outside the water and doesn't get a proper soaking bath nor does it enjoy the warmth of the water like his legs.

Bottom line: fine from one month until 4-5 months (but not the best), but not very practical after that.

Love this tub!
We really love this tub. We opted to get the one without the hammock and we have not needed it. When bathing our newborn, I just had to keep one hand on his head to keep him from leaning too far onto one side. Now, at 4 months old, he's almost ready to use the sitting up side of the tub. The tub is large and comfortable and the compartment on the side is great for holding the washcloth. I do wish they made a version that folds up for easier storage, but a friend of mine owns one that folds up and it leaks all over the place.

Great little tub!
This is the best little tub for a newborn! It has held up through two kids so far and still in great shape. I wish there was a bit more of the grip stuff to keep them for sliding but overall it is great.
